When integrating sources in an essay, you need to make sure of three things:
- that the source is scholarly (reliable and credible),
- that the source is properly used within your writing (giving proper credit as well as paraphrasing/summarizing correctly), and
- that the source is properly synthesized: followed with your evaluation of the source content, your explanation as to how the source content proves your argument, and how the credibility of the author leaves little doubt to the reliability of the content used to defend your argument.
