FOLLOW STRUCTURE & STYLE GUIDELINES FOR ESSAYS

The STRUCTURE of an essay is as important as the paper FORMAT and source CITATIONS.

Be sure to follow the DRAFTING content for proper STRUCTURE & STYLE.

Be sure to use the 3-part-layout in all of your writing. See THIS LINK for help with the 3-part-layout in DBs, essays, and paragraphs.

Crafting a Title Page

While there are many ways to construct a title page, you must follow the formatting guidelines for it to meet academic standards.  Depending on which formatting style you are using (MLA, APA, or Turabian), your title page will have similar elements, but essentially, it will be different.  Ask your professor what style is required for your class.

NOTE: Liberty University requires a title page for ALL paper submissions; therefore, even if your formatting style indicates it is optional or not required, please know that papers submitted to Liberty without a title page will receive point deductions.

For the most reliable title page information, see your formatting handbook.  While MLA does not have a pre-set title page requirement, many instructors of English still require a title page, even if you are formatting the work in MLA.  If you are being asked to construct a title page for a MLA-fomatted writing, see the link below for help.  If you are using APA or Turabian, links to samples are below as well.
